Hello, this is Dan.
It’s been a while since anything’s been posted, so I thought I’d add some news from my life.
After ten years at Bankrate, Inc. as Senior Vice President and CTO, I decided to move on late last year. I left on good terms with great memories and many great relationships that will last a lifetime.
As part of my decision, I founded Pratt Ventures, LLC. Pratt Ventures makes investments in targeted opportunities, some as a lead investor, others as a minor investor where we can add value. So far, there is one minor investment (still confidential) and a startup (MindFusionX.com – pr. Mind Fusion X) well under way. With a small team, we’re exploring a few other opportunities that are still a ways down the road.
Bankrate was the greatest opportunity and most fun in my career. The company expanded well over ten-fold while I was there, both organically and through dozens of acquisitions. I enjoyed the people, excitement, the pace, the diversity, the partners, and of course the technology. It was a blast and helped me grow in many ways as I helped the company execute and grow. I have many fond memories, but I’m glad to have moved on to new endeavors.
I had looked forward to more free time and flexibility. I think I have the flexibility, but time is at a premium. I’m more engaged than ever and loving every second.
