July 23, the fourth Saturday of the month, is the great Hoogterp Tribe reunion, when the extended family from around the country gather in the UP. As usual, the potluck dinner on Saturday evening and the pancake and leftovers breakfast on Sunday morning are the only scheduled events.
As the time gets closer, I’ll add information I happen to acquire about who is coming, who isn’t, and whatever. To get your info added, enter a comment or send me (Ruth) an email. You’ll be hearing from Jean about things as well.
I’ve added a comment to indicate when Mary, YinYin, Ruike, and I will be in Michigan.
I am sad to say that Jerry, Kendra and My self will not be at the reunion this year. =( We have something else planned a little closer to home. We will miss everyone!
I’m looking forward to seeing everyone soon. Is anyone bringing kids? Yinyin and Ruike are really disappointed that neither Danielle nor Tess will be there.
I plan to be a the reunion Friday morning through sometime Sunday. Helena and the kids won’t be coming this summer, as the kids are in a program for the month of July that we can’t pull them out of and couldn’t do any other time.
Ruth, Mary, Ruike, and YinYin are traveling to Chicago by train, arriving July 14 and leaving Chicago by plane on July 28. We hope to spend a night incoming or outgoing with the Yobs in Indiana.
